Some of the songs I've heard are going to exist crazy. She'due south getting bigger and better." "All I'm doing at the cease of the day is listening to the tracks Gaga has written and approving them for her album. She has producers that she works with outside of myself and they are coming upwardly with some incredible records. But the beauty of it is she knows exactly what she wants. So it just makes information technology easier for me."

And I have been for three years blistering cakes — and at present I'm going to broil a cake that has a bitter jelly. The message of the new music is at present more biting than it was before. Because the sweeter the block, the more bitter the jelly can exist."

- "It'southward going to be shocking, shocking, shocking! You never want to go too far from your make – people love yous for a reason. But we still want to give them something with a kicking, something that makes them say, 'Oh my God! We didn't expect this!' When you lot heard "Bad Romance" later "Poker Confront", it was like the best matter you've e'er heard. We desire that type of reaction. I retrieve that'southward function of my task and her job – to keep her evolving."
On Baronial 24th, 2010 at the Roger'due south Arenain Vancouver, Gaga stated her record label asked that she take a interruption afterwards her tour, and not release another anthology until the summertime. - "The album is my accented greatest piece of work I've ever done and I'm so excited about it. The message, the melodies, the direction, the pregnant, what it will mean to my fans and what it volition mean in my own life - it'south utter liberation."
- "I knew I had an ability to change the earth when I started to receive letters from fans: 'Y'all saved my life…' 'I'thou gay and my parents threw me out.' My fans have related to me every bit a homo and every bit a non-human beingness - as a super-man person that I truly am."
- "Everyone tells me I'm arrogant but my music's the only thing I've got, so you'll have to allow me exist confident almost 1 matter. I suppose that'south what you can await from the anthology: a lot of hit records that will piss people off."
- " Beyoncé said: 'Where the fuck practice you get these ideas from?' And I was similar: 'I don't know Bee, it was just the style I was born'."

- "I wrote the song simply to write a cute song and I intend to put it on the new anthology, yep, merely it'south non totally indicative of the new album sound; it's just a really big rock and curlicue hitting. I practice have these hopes that information technology could be a swell crossover record, so I'chiliad going to put my producer's hat on and get it to a place where I experience like it could achieve the masses." "It's a beautiful, cute lyric and tune."
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Elton John spoke most the album.
- "I love her, and I dear her ability to write. There's a adventure I might do one rails with her, but she'due south then busy and I'k so busy, we can never get together! Only her record – it's fucking astonishing. 'Born This Manner', which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor'south 'I Volition Survive'. This is the new 'I Will Survive'. That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem. Actually, it's not a gay anthem – information technology can utilise to anybody."
Gaga's manager, Troy Carter spoke about the album during an interview with Billboard Touring Conference and Awards.
- "We're just starting to play music for the label. We're very excited about it. We're starting to play a little for people and getting a experience for it, and she's done an incredible chore, a really incredible chore"
- "Well, you know what, it's not where I go from a business standpoint, it's more than about where she goes creatively because, truth exist told, we built the business concern effectually her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga. We oasis't announced a date … nope … information technology's coming soon."
RedOne also spoke most it, stating "[He] call up information technology'due south more of her freedom anthology. It's like liberty, this album … it's her album!"
- "To be honest with you, I think that this album that she's making is too precious to talk nigh. When information technology comes out you'll hear and you'll make your choice. I think you're gonna dearest it. Merely I think it'southward too precious for me to talk about it. It's crazy."
Akon spoke about the anthology in an interview with MTV News, stating that the anthology is definitely "a notch up" from Gaga's previous work, and that he feels it is "only an appetizer for what is to come." [3]
During an interview with MTV News, Gaga'south friend Perez Hilton stated:
- "This album is Gaga's Like A Prayer, and that is huge praise coming from me, who is, like, the biggest Madonna fan ever. And I told Gaga that I remember this album is her Like A Prayer, and she took that as a big compliment, and I'm and so tempted to say more. What'due south amazing well-nigh this body of work is that information technology really is that Born This Way is a trunk of work, where all of the songs make sense together. And it'southward equally if she created this globe or co-created this world with her fans, and all of these songs inhabit that world. And it's so special. The songs, the album, the videos are gonna change civilisation. Information technology's gonna salvage lives, and it'south gonna get people dancing."
Perez has heard the album in its entirety, and he notes that fans will exist blown abroad:
- "And information technology's not gonna be what everybody expects, and information technology's gonna be more than everybody expects," he said. "And it'south gonna be and then amazing. I tin't await for everybody to hear the music, and it's such a long time away. May is non around the corner."

On May 2d, 2011 Gaga released the rails listings to both the original and special edition album.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Garibay discussed what it was like recording the album while Gaga was touring.
- "Basically, she's constantly working, so nosotros have to proceed up. If she has an thought, we need to be at that place to capture those moments, so we had every setup possible — nosotros had laptops where we could go backstage and record something on the spot and we had a bigger ready up in the studio jitney. When we needed to isolate vocals, we'd tape in there, it felt more serenity. So somewhen when we really made a stop somewhere for several days, we'd go into a real studio and flesh out these ideas. It reminded me of those documentaries with mega bands from the '70s like Pink Floyd, who would record in these big studio sessions. Information technology felt like that. It felt like we were creating something actually special." [five]
- "Her voice is so powerful, y'all can pretty much capture information technology with anything, whether a laptop or a mic. It's funny, even vocals recorded off her laptop with the GarageBand mic we concluded upward using on the anthology. Sometimes nosotros sacrifice quality for functioning because at that place's a magic moment where the vocal sounds simply correct. We worked very difficult at repairing annihilation that needed to be repaired sonically." [5]
Garibay also discussed how the team prevented material from beingness leaked.
- "Farthermost steps (were taken). Nosotros were on the route for a year and two months, and then there were then many hack attempts to our email accounts, our Twitter accounts, our Facebook accounts, everything around usa. Nosotros were targets. So what nosotros did was brand sure all our computers were offline all the fourth dimension -- none of our work computers were online at any time. And we were very conscientious about where we left our difficult drives and storage devices. They pretty much never left our sight."
- "It's unfair for i of your sketches to be released when information technology's merely a sketch. To practise it justice is to release a complete piece of art. So nether those guidelines, we were really cautious nigh how we created this album, like how nosotros couldn't sacrifice inventiveness, and we wouldn't sacrifice security, either … It'south funny because now beingness off the tour, I should feel lighter considering I'm used to carrying all my stuff with me. It's like carrying a wallet, it became such a office of u.s.a.."
Garibay too discussed those deemed "co-writers" on the album:
- "She doesn't demand anyone to write a striking song. A lot of times, information technology'south 100% her. She'southward generous enough to give the producers who worked on this album a percentage of the songwriting for the product and any contributions we gave in arrangement or a few lyrical suggestions here and there." [5]
Garibay also explained the editing process of the album.
- "For every song, we averaged about fifty versions on the high side, because she was that much of a perfectionist. She wanted to give the all-time product possible to her fans. I would compare it to working on v albums at once. It was then much work, I didn't sleep for a month, I would just accept naps. And when she wasn't happy with any of the versions and she wanted to start over, I had to exist the one to exercise information technology. Information technology happened quite a few times -- it had to go through all those versions to evolve into the final product. Considering in her caput, it's like, "I want to hear the full rock version, I desire to hear the full dance version, I desire to hear the total techno version, I desire to hear the total New Wave version." And in one case she hears and sees all the colors that she's working with, she can finally help paint that concluding moving-picture show. That's how it works. You can't get to the final point in her head without sketching each private painting or trying each individual color. That way you know what the possibilities are."
